laughter

What do you do when you tell your sponsor of your day and he starts to laugh? The more you tell, the harder he laughs, pausing only to wipe away the tears of joy. When you speak of your pain and suffering and he keeps interrupting with more laughter? Then tells you to go on, listening careful. When you are finished, he says thank you. Thank you for reminding him of himself. That he's been exactly where you are today.

So what do you do? Join in of course. See the day for what it really was. See the self pity, the denial, the isms, and laugh. Stop taking myself so seriously. After all, this mornings meditation in the "Daily Reflections" suggested I levitate. If that ain't good AA, then what is?

My sponsors favourite sayings:

"time takes time"
"you are exactly where you need to be today"
"do you want to be right or happy?"
"if you want what we got"
